MIDC has developed the Waluj industrial area along Aurangabad-Pune state highway at around 10 km from Aurangabad City. The industrial area has seen sharp development in recent years and is also termed as "Automotive Hub" of Marathwada. Existing drains in the area were already filled with dust, dirt, and outflow of industrial wastewater, resulting in blockage of the same. Therefore, to collect the overflow of existing industries' soak pits, it was essential to provide additional RCC drains of higher capacity to facilitate the smooth discharge of wastewater and other material to the nearby treatment plant.
